Hwaseung Corporation cooperates in technology cooperation with 'eco-friendly hybrid technology center' in mass production of KOMERI

The KOMERI Gyeongnam Headquarters Eco-friendly Hybrid Technology Center and Hwaseung Corporation (CEO Heo Seong-ryong) announced on the 7th that they will cooperate with each other as part of the "Korea Institute of Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment (KOMERI)'s "Project to Create a Foundation for Land Demonstration of Large-Ship Hybrid Propulsion System" (22-'26), which is being promoted by the Korea Institute of Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (KOMERI) with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Yangsan City in Gyeongnam.

The Korea Institute of Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Materials is currently establishing the Gyeongnam Headquarters Eco-friendly Hybrid Technology Center in the Yangsan Industrial Complex Innovation Support Center to prepare test facilities for the development of hybrid propulsion technology for medium and large ships, and actively promote research and development consulting, technical cooperation, and technical support for local companies. In response, Hwaseung Corporation has started supporting activities by holding future food development and technical cooperation seminars through close technical cooperation with the KOMERI Eco-friendly Hybrid Technology Center.

Hwaseung Corporation is Korea's leading global rubber and elastic material company, and it is the No. 1 company in the domestic market share of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), which are eco-friendly materials, as well as CMB applying various polymers such as EPDM and Recycle EPDM, which are key rubber materials, and has core technologies and capabilities in developing eco-friendly materials. Recently, it is focusing on expanding various eco-friendly future businesses as well as securing competitive advantages in order to promote mid- to long-term growth based on high value-added material competency technology.

In particular, through this joint cooperation project, the company plans to focus more on R&D on high value-added products such as △ next-generation defense products for ships △ special seals for underwater △ elastic bearings for offshore plants △ mounts. As part of this, a joint seminar with KOMERI was held on the 17th of last month to introduce the specialized technologies of the two institutions, and to hold in-depth discussions on how to form working-level staff to promote cooperation between the two institutions and cooperate in technology.

The KOMERI Gyeongnam Environmentally Friendly Hybrid Technology Center plans to continue to push for orders for local companies and national R&D projects, consulting and technical cooperation for new product development, and engineering, and Hwaseung Corporation is also in full swing with technology cooperation projects.

"Hwaseung Corporation has been working hard to develop materials and technologies for eco-friendly future industries as part of ESG management, especially in recycling and bio-material development," said Heo Seong-ryong, CEO of Hwaseung Corporation. "We are very happy to cooperate with the Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Natural Resources (KOMERI) to develop hybrid propulsion technologies for medium and large-sized ships in the marine industry, which is the core of future growth engines, and we will spare no effort to cooperate with related organizations to achieve great results." <The End>
